Volunteers from InvestAcc’s Carlisle office have recently donated a full working day at Oaktree Animals’ Charity in Wetheral. The day formed part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support the mental health of their employees.
10 members of staff swapped office for field and attended for a full paid working day. This saw them take part in tasks such as painting the dog homes, deep cleaning the kennels as well as socialising with the puppies, kittens and donkeys! Oaktree are a local charity that takes in hundreds of animals, giving them a second chance. Their work often extends into the community using educational campaigns to raise awareness of the cause.
The event comes as part of InvestAcc’s growing mental health initiative, something that has been prioritised by the business since the ‘Mental Health in
the Workplace’ team was formed in 2024. The taskforce ensures that all employees have access to advanced support at work and has already arranged events such as talks by representatives from Andy’s Man Club earlier this year.
Julia Barnes, Director, said “As a business we are committed to fostering a culture where people feel safe, supported and empowered to prioritise their own mental wellbeing. Partnering with Oaktree for a full volunteering day provided a unique opportunity for members of the team to take
a day away from the office, concentrating on their own wellbeing as well as showing appreciation for a vital part of our local community”.
InvestAcc now employs over 115 members of staff. As the business grows, we are always keen to hear from talented individuals. For more information on current opportunities, please click here
